2000/175 - The Holmston TartanThe first set of ties and scarves, 50 of each, went on sale back at the Christmas Fayre. More cloth was woven, made up and sold, and a third set of
orders is ready for our suppliers, Strathmore Woollens.
We think these items in the special tartan (not as garish as in the cartoon here) are really good value at only £5 for a tie and £10 for a soft, smooth but warm scarf. There are other things than ties and scarves - see further down! Again, a thank-you to the six pupils from P6 and P7 whose winning entries in a school competition, last year, were used to make up the tartan. They are -
Laura and Kirsten from P6, and Nicole, Adam, Kerry, and Gregor, all from P7.
They got a prize of a scarf each, and an individual Certificate to remind them of their days as Tartan Designers. The local newspapers came to the school and took photos of them with Mr Queen, chairperson of the 2000/175 Committee, and Mrs Kennedy. Other tartan items can be ordered at the following prices -
