Cob-webby Holmston!
That's what Carol Bain called us in her recent e-mail. She meant our web pages were getting so old, they had cob-webs.
Since the last update was in February, we can't blame her. News stories
have been slowing down at the school since the events for the 175th Anniversary last year.
But the excitement hasn't stopped.
Since the February issue we've had the Mid-Term break, the Easter holidays, a May holiday, a Spring Bank Holiday,
and lots of events at the school.
There's been the Burns poetry competition, a trip to Vikingar in Largs, the Ayr Primaries Swimming Gala, the School Sports, and our P7 class were
chosen to be the first to stay away, for 4 days and 3 nights, at the new Dolphin House outdoor centre down by the sea.
The PTA have run an Ice Party, a Fashion Show, and the traditional annual
Beetle Drive, and next up is the Summer Fayre on June 8th.
And through the generosity of a Former Pupil in Canada, a girl who left Holmston, went to Canada, got married and later set up an Internet company with her
husband, we have a new address for the web pages - www.holmston.com - much easier to remember!
Thanks to Ann Cameron, now Knight, and
her husband Paul!
There's more on some of these stories in the next pages, and we still have all the great material from 25 issues during Holmston's 175th Anniversary year in 1999-2000, in our back-numbers section.
Our readership count at the top right of the first page, has passed
3900 visitors now, another 500 since February, so people must be finding plenty of interesting things to read here.
