Dynamic Earth
"On the Saturday of Ayr Gold Cup weekend, we went to Dynamic Earth
in Edinburgh. It was big and it was dome-shaped.
When we got inside someone at a desk told us to go down the stairs so
we could get our cards scanned so we could go into the Space Place.
I jumped on a button and it showed the waves of how hard I would make an
Earthquake.
Then we went on a Time Machine which was fascinating. We saw all kinds of things
from the olden days to the end when it was just completely black and there were only
stars.
When we got out a lady greeted us and told us to go through a room where there was a
big screen to show us how the Earth started. When the volcano pictures
came on, in front of the screen there was lots of ground and some of it lit up
like lava flowing through, and the ground moved like you were standing right in front of it.
Then we went through where there was another big screen and when you
were watching it it looked like you were really flying over mountains and ice,
and turning around. It nearly made you dizzy.
We went through another room and we saw something which scientists
thought was called the 'primordial soup'.
There was lots more to say, I had a great time. What were the
really exciting bits? - touching the Iceberg, and a Periscope, and the rain storm
in a place where you could see model animals and some of them were really moving."
