Inspectors' Report

HMI Report

Holmston Primary was inspected in June 2002 in a national sample.

The Inspectors' Report is very favourable. You can read the full text at the HMI website.

A few highlights -

"The school provided a very good overall quality of education.
Staff had created a very effective climate for learning and many pupils achieved very good standards.  The school had well-conceived plans to build further on its successes, to continue to improve pupils' experience and attainments."

From a list of "Key Strengths" -

  • The school's ethos, and quality of provision for personal and social development and pastoral care
  • ...communications, links with parents, the School Board, the wider community
  • ...the curriculum, quality of learning support, pupils' overall attainment in mathematics
  • ...high quality of leadership of the head teacher, effectiveness of promoted staff and senior teachers.

These web pages are edited by parents, and we're pleased to pass on the news of this great report.

Congratulations to Mr Burnett and his staff, and thanks for your good work.
