2000/175 Events

The 2000/175 group closed last year, after the end of the 175th Anniversary year. One of the last two social events was the highly successful Former Pupils' Reunion organised by Sandy Murdoch and other Former Pupils on Saturday 25th November 2000 - see the Former Pupils section.

And on Saturday 20th January 2001, the 2000/175 Committee held a Holmston Bash - a social event for all children and parents. Music, dancing, games, food... something for everyone, to finish off Holmston's 175th Anniversary year in some style. About 260 people packed in to Belmont Academy's Hall and had a great time. As after the FP Reunion, the question at Assembly the following Monday was "Can we do that again sometime?"

At a meeting in June 2001, the 2000/175 Committee disbanded, leaving most of the rest of the money raised to buy an award to be given each year to a noteworthy pupil. Some also went to buy a small digital camera for the pupils to use with these web pages.

We're keeping some of the 2000/175 stories in our pages for the moment, they're likely to be of great interest to Former Pupils who've just discovered our web pages, and maybe to other readers.
