Scarey Sailing

While I was at Dolphin House I did a lot of great things, but the thing that sticks in my mind most was when I went sailing.

"Come on you guys, hurry up!" yelled the instructor. We had to put on wet suits but it wasn't very easy to get into them, they were either too big or too small. We were there to learn a water sport, Sailing, Kayaking or Windsurfing.

I chose to do Sailing. After we put on our wet suits it was time to go outside.

There was only 8 of us that did Sailing, L., H., A., K., N., and me (all girls), and F., S. (boys). We got an instructor called Gary, he taught us how to set our boat up and then he said "Right, I think it's time to go out", at that moment I didn't mind.

Gary tied N. and me's boat to one side of a speed boat and L. and H.'s to the other, then he took us out really deep. When we got there he untied us and moved away from us a wee bit and said "I want you to sail towards me".

Then my heart jumped into my mouth. We had practised for this before but not this deep. I tried to sail but I was panicking.

I felt I was going to tip up. N. tried to calm me down and it was working. I sailed to Gary. I even sailed into the side of the loch.

When I was on land again I felt relieved, and I thought I would never sail again. I was nervous but now I was cold and wet. The worst thing about the day was having to wear those horrible wet suits.
