Tuesday 15th May
When we woke up we went down to the Dolphin House and got
our breakfast. We then got ready to go on a Coastal walk
from the Heads of Ayr to Dunure.
We were given welly boots, waterproof jackets and rucksacks.
The rucksacks were to carry our packed lunch and any stone or
shell specimens we collected.
We collected stones such as granite, jasper and agate.
We learned from Henry how the rocks were formed, and how
this area was once part of a Volcano. Luckily it
is now extinct.
Coastal Environment Study
After the walk we were all given a survey sheet about our walk.
These are our results. We rated the coast most highly for
lack of noise (90%) and abundance of wildlife (87%).
