The Dolphin House

The Dolphin House is for children of all ages; it lies along the beach only 300 metres from a Castle.

In this feature-length report, we have an introduction;
followed by a Weather Report, and articles on the 4 days that Holmston's P7 spent there - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday;
and "Memorable Moments", pupils' notes on what they made of walking, sailing, and windsurfing.

There were more Memorable Moments at the official opening of Dolphin House, about two weeks after Holmston's P7 stayed there. P7 went back for a visit.

They seem to have had a good time at the Dolphin House, with comments like "We had a good day and so did everyone else", and "I felt sad that we had to leave" and "we had turns each and it was great".

But there's drama, with highlights like:

"Scarey Sailing - Gary tied N. and me's boat to one side of a speed boat and L. and H.'s to the other, then he took us out really deep.
"When we got there he untied us and moved away from us a wee bit and said 'I want you to sail towards me'. Then my heart jumped into my mouth."

"Slip, Slide, Slither, Bang - M. was still singing at this bit. All of a sudden I slipped on a rock. I fell and bumped my head...
R., M., Tracey and Mrs R. came rushing over to see if I was OK.
I felt a bit dizzy but M. made me feel a bit better by cracking a joke. I got up, still feeling a bit dizzy but I was OK.
Mrs R. gave me a hanky to dry my tears..."
,

"Galloway Sailing Centre...We were split up into two groups and then we went for a paddle on the surfboard with no sail. Then me and M. had not fell in so we got on the same board and had to try and wobble each other off. No one came off so the instructor came over and tipped the board over."
