 Galloway Sailing Centre

Wednesday 16th May

On Day 3 we went to the Galloway Sailing Centre at Loch Ken to learn how to do some watersports.

There were three sports to chose from. They were windsurfing, kayaking and sailing.

 Windsurfing on Loch Ken

To windsurf you have to master the art of balancing on a board and controlling a sail at the same time.

 Launching Kayaks

Kayaking was a little easier as you only had to control the oars.

 Sailing, Loch Ken

Last but not least there was sailing. For this there were two people in a boat, one controlling the steering and one controlling the sail.

We had to wear wetsuits in case we fell into the water!

They felt strange at first and they looked weird.

 More Kayaks

We spent about 2 to 3 hours practising these activities.

We arrived back at the Dolphin House between 4 and 5 pm.

Everyone at Dolphin House enjoyed their day at the Galloway Sailing Centre.
