Former pupils write in...

We've had e-mail from two former pupils, in reply to Mr Queen's letter in the "Scots Magazine" asking for former pupils to get in touch.

One, Mr David McRobbie, we mentioned in the last issue. He went to Holmston in 1941. He's now living in Australia, working as a writer of children's books and TV series, and has now sent the school copies of two of his recent books, "See How They Run" and "Mandragora". Thanks very much!

The pupils are preparing a reply to Mr McRobbie, which we'll feature after the October holiday. Meanwhile, there are some extracts from his letter on the next page.

Mr Stuart Tod, who went to Holmston from 1966 to 1971, is now living in Caithness. He wrote to us and sent us the address of his family Web pages, which have some interesting notes on two of his hobbies - vintage motorcycles and banjo music.

We've added a few notes from his letter, later in this section.
